Instructions for authors

Authors should upload their paper in Word format, following the online instructions.

The following format guidelines should be carefully followed:

1. The typing area should be 17x25cm, with upper and left margins equal to 2.5 and 2.0 cm respectively. The total length of the paper, including abstract, references, figures etc., must not exceed 10 pages.

2. All text can be typed single spaced. Times (new roman or equivalent) fonts, size 12, should be used.

3. The first page should include the following:

a) The title of the paper in capital, bold letters (font size 15), centered and starting from the 4th single spaced line from the top of the typing area. Its entire length should not exceed 100 characters.

b)Names of the authors in small, bold letters (font size 13), centered and separated from the title by 1 line space.

c)Address of the authors in small letters.

d) Abstract, from 20 to 28 lines, headed by the word ABSTRACT, in capital, bold letters, separated from the addresses by a 3 line space.

e) Up to 8 keywords, headed by the word: Keywords and separated by 1 line space from the abstract.

Please mention that the first page will be included in the abstract volume.

4. The text should be justified throughout. Paragraphs should be flush with the left margin, and separated by one line space.

5. All headings should be flush with the left margin, and consecutively numbered. For main headings (which should be separated by 1 line space from text above and below) capital, bold characters should be used (e.g. 1. INTRODUCTION). For secondary headings (which should be separated by 1 line space from text above only) small, bold letters should be used, e.g. 3.1 Theoretical approach

Third grade heading, should be underlined, e.g. 3.2.1 Results of test 1

6. Tables should be inserted in the text following their first reference, and as close to it as possible. They should be separated from text above and below by 1 line space. The word TABLE should be capitalized and followed by an Arabic numeral and a proper legend. Where a table exceeds 1 page, the column headings should be repeated.

7. Drawings, graphs and photographs should be sized to fit within the typing area, including any labeling, numbers or legend. They should be inserted in the text following their first reference, and separated from text above and below by 1 line space. Captions should be centered and preceded by the word: Figure followed by a number in Arabic numerals.

8. References in the text should be made by authors’ names, followed by the year of publication, e.g. Korfiatis and Christodoulatos (2007) or (Korfiatis and Christodoulatos, 2007). If the authors are three or more, only the name of the first author should appear, followed by the words “et al”, e.g. Koutsospyros et al, 2010. All references should then be listed in alphabetical order at the end of the text, under the title: REFERENCES. The style of the references is indicated in the following examples (for book, paper in journal, book chapter, paper in conference proceedings and internet source respectively).
